PolyTherics was founded in 2002 by Drs Steve Brocchini (School of Pharmacy) and Sunil Shaunak (Imperial College).

The company is pursuing two main areas:

1- Development of a completely novel pegylation technology that allows rigorous control of the pegylation process (number of PEG molecules and attachment sites) at a significantly reduced costs. This represents a major improvement in the field of PEGylation. PolyTherics is offering this technology to biopharmacuetical companies on a collaboration/service basis.

2 - Development of biologically active polymers (DendrimeRX). PolyTherics has two molecules in pre-clinical development. A angiogenesis and an anti-inflammatory compounds. Both are very potent and have shown activity in a chronic inflammation animal model.

Seed investors included BBSF, Catalyst Biomedica and Imperial College Seed Fund.
