This £4 million Fund is open to all inventive scientists related to UCL, CR-UK, ICR, The Royal Veterinary College and The School of Pharmacy. We invest in any project related to life science. This could be in drug discovery, medical devices, diagnostics, research tools and more.

At present, we have invested in 10 companies. 8 of them have received follow-on investment (series A funding), raising over £18m in total. We exited our first company, Xcellsyz, by selling its assets to Cambrex in the US, in 2004.

We have a very hands-on approach, being on the board of most of our companies and taking part-time executive role to help the company with its business development activities.

At present the fund is fully invested (having recently made its 10th investment in Endomagnetics Ltd) and monitors its current investments. The plan is to reopen the investment activities as soon as an exit has replenished the fund.
